"indigo print" as an ancient dyeing art, began in the Qin and Han period, prevailing in the Tang and Song dynasties. Later, due to various reasons, the ban on private circulation, indigo print was forced to tend to monochrome. Into the Yuan and Ming, indigo print gradually fading out people's lives. Modern and contemporary, As the machine continued expansion of large-scale production and development,China's steady decline in production of hand-dyeing and printing .As human attention to the traditions and crafts,Pay attention to environmental protection, Hand-dyeing art and products have gradually been certain reservations and recovery.In recent years, academic community started a lot more research and attention on indigo print. In this paper, from the patterns, combined art and design theory, from its content, theme, folk customs, forms of design reflects aspects of analysis and synthesis of research; also with other traditional Chinese hand-printing and dyeing patterns were compared. For Traditional dyeing process of research and the protection of indigo print,this paper has made a new contributions.
