"Although clothing has become an open and international art in the modern world, there has always been a natural link to the ethnic character since its very beginning."Thus, fashion design with national theme has always been kept in interpretation. With extensive international cultural exchange and cultural appreciation and reference, many designers are constantly seeking innovational modes of expressing ethnic styles. How to promote and develop fashion design with ethnic theme internationally? This is a question demanding continuous exploration. This article based on the study of ethnic style of clothing, researches on the forming principles and inherent characteristics of phenomenon of modern comprehensive ethnic style, attempts to explore this "comprehensive ethnic style", studies the style in terms of both theory and practice, summarizes the practical application methods of the theory, and tries to apply the theory to the design and production of clothing, and therefore enables the study of this subject to have practical significance in fashion design. Thanks to the universal designing concepts and methods generalized from the research mentioned above, a voluntary and spontaneous supplement for the current trend of fashion design and relevant industry content will be expected. Meanwhile, the realization of the practical value of these research findings in the commercial performance is also anticipated. Likewise, I look forward to referring this as a starting point of further exploration as well.
