Wang Meng's "A Young Man Who Only Recently Joined the Organization Department" is regarded as a classic in the contemporary literature history, but it is also one of the most controversial articles that have drawn most attention. Many a research have been conducted to explore the internal interpretation of the text itself, but little attention has been paid to the literary codes in a particular era contained in this novel, namely:"Head of Tractor Station and Chief Agronomist" and the figure called "Na Sijia". In this paper, the author tries to construct a historical context of the young's literature reading in the 1950s through investigating the documents on the guidance and planning of the young's reading activities published on the CYL Central Committee's journals such as "China Youth" and "China Youth Daily" during that period. Besides, the CYL Central Committee's recommendation of "Head of Tractor Station and Chief Agronomist" is also explored from the perspective of "reading". What's more, by answering the question how did the debates of major newspapers and magazines on "the personality of Na Sijia" influence Wang Meng's literary mind as well as the creation of the literary figure "Lin Zhen", the author manages to reveal the shift of Wang Meng's cross-context realistic writing principles of creating literal images from "Na Sijia" to "Lin Zhen".
