In the early of the 20th century, the national crisis of China was deepening. Reformists had quite a great influence on the Overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia, and at the same time the revolutionary center transferred from Japan to Southeast Asia. Singapore turned into a hub of the revolution. At this historical background, the Singapore Chinese Revolution Newspaper appeared and occupied an important position. Among them, Chong Shing Yit Pao,which was started on 20 August 1907 with the purpose of combating the Union Time, became the main propaganda of revolutionaries and the main battlefield of"battle of the pen"between revolutionaries and reformists in Southeast Asia. Its purpose was to call on people to"love race and nation"and what it promoted were to expose the Qing government, to attack the reformists and to call for revolution.Singapore Chinese Revolution Newspaper spread the democratic revolution thoughts initially in the Southeast Asia region. To some extent they moved the local Overseas Chinese to support revolution, prepared public opinion for The 1911 Revolution and promoted the occurrence of The 1911 Revolution. However, in the propaganda the revolutionary camp filled with Anti-Manchu opinion, which had become the keynote of the revolution at that time, showing a ultranationalistic tendency.
