| In Chapter One, the author firstly studies the history of da capo aria and its musical functions and then generally analyzes Handel, a famous soprano's da capo aria during her London period, which is divided into several categories. In Chapter Two, the author further investigates the artistic traits of Handel's da capo aria, such as, the contrastive style of Baroque Music, the composition features of melody, the musical style of da capo aria, and the classification of coloratura features. In Chapter Three, according to Belcanto vocal traits, relative bibliography and videotapes, the author studies Handel's Belcanto vocal features to find out what academic significance Handel's da capo aria has brought to vocal music. In the conclusion, the author summarizes and evaluates the artistic merits of Handel's da capo aria. |
