| Objective:Through investigating behavioral problems of children in different economic areas and migrant children to understand their mental health status and characteristics, and also to further explore the factors affecting children behavioral problems, thus to provide a scientific basis for the prevention of children behavioral problems in different economic areas.Methods: 10000 primary school students in grade 1-6 from Suzhou and Suqian were tested by Achenbach Child Behavior Checklist(CBCL),Family Environment Scale(FES) and self-made questionnaire in rearing patterns, 9128 valid questionnaires were returned. The data was analyzed by statistic analysis software SPSS15.0.Results:①There were 1285 children with behavior problems in the 9128 children, the prevalence rate of behavioral problems for all children was 14.1%,15.5% for boys, 12.6% for girls, there was significant difference for the prevalence rates between male and female(χ2=16.245, P<0.01). there was not significant difference for the prevalence rates in grade(sχ2=9.618, P>0.05).The prevalence rate of children behavior problems in the areas of Suqian, Suzhou and Suzhou migrant children was respectively 13.6%,10.0% and 21.8%, there was significant difference among the three groups(χ2=125.059, P<0.01).②The prevalence rates of boys were higher than girls, the difference of gender was significant in Suqian and migrant children(χ2=3.997,5.526, P<0.05).The prevalence rates in rural areas were higher than in urban areas, the urban-rural difference in Suqian and Suzhou area was significant(χ2=7.741,23.601, P<0.01).③The prevalence rate of children in Suqian city and Suzhou city was respectively 12.9% and 8.8%, the two cities difference was significant(χ2=23.587, P<0.01).The prevalence rate of children in Suqian rural and Suzhou rural areas was respectively 16.3% and 16.5% , the two rural areas difference was not significant (χ2=0.015, P>0.05).The prevalence rate of children in Suqian countryside, Suzhou city and migrant children was respectively 16.3%, 8.8% and 21.8%, there was significant difference among the three groups (χ2=136.903, P<0.01).④The prevalence rates of positive behavioral factors of rural area was higher than urban area, urban-rural difference in sexual problem of Suqian girls was significant(P<0.01), urban-rural difference in depression, hyperactive, social problems, disobedient factors of the boys and all behavioral factors of the girls in Suzhou were significant(P<0.05). The prevalence rates of each behavioral factors of Suqian city were higher than Suzhou city, there were significant differences in depression, dissociation, social problem, disobedien of boys and in social withdrawal ,somatic problems, cruelty of girls(P<0.05).The prevalence rate of each factors of Suzhou rural area was higher than Suqian rural area, there was significant difference in hyperactive, aggressive, disobedient of boys and in social withdrawal ,somatic problems, cruelty of girls(P<0.05).The prevalence rates of positive behavioral factors of migrant children were higher than city and rural children, there were significant differences among the three groups(P<0.05).⑤The prevalence rate of outlier factor≥2 was 5.6% in the 9128 children, and the rate of outlier factor≥2 was 6.7% in boys, 4.3% in girls, there was significant difference between male and female(χ2=26.015, P<0.01).The prevalence rate of outlier factor≥2 in Suqian and Suzhou city was respectively 5.0%, 3.2%, in rural area was respectively 5.6%, 9.8%, there was significant difference between Suqian and Suzhou(χ2=11.642, 8.474, P<0.01). Suqian rural area,Suzhou city and migrant children was respectively 5.6%,3.2% and 8.9%, there was significant difference among the three groups(χ2=61.421, P<0.01).⑥The behavioral problem of children is closely related to their gender, ages and parental educational level. Multivariate non-conditioned logistic regression analysis was used to assess the relationship of correlative factors, we found that the risk factors of behavioral problems of children were related to high contradiction of family environment, the poor growth and development in early childhood, her mother was always separated from her for several months when the child was 1-3 years old, parents often punished and criticized children corporally, parents had no time to accompany children, child's personality was very stubborn, self-esteem, not easily subjected to parents, children watched television or computer for more than 4 hours in a day. The protective factors of behavioral problems of children were related to sufficient recreation, organization and intimacy of family environment, mother was in a good mood during pregnancy, children's gender coincided with parental expectations, the attitudes of parents towards their children were consistent and parents often praised their children. The study also found that the influence factors of children behavioral problems had urban-rural and gender difference.Conclusion:①The prevalence rates of children behavior problems are high, especially the rates for migrant children.②The prevalence rates of children in different areas and genders are different. The prevalence rates of boys are higher than girls, rural areas are higher than urban areas, and Suqian economic backward areas are higher than Suzhou developed areas. The prevalence rates of migrant children are not only higher than Suzhou city children but also higher than Suqian rural children.③The incidences of children behavior problems are not only related to one factor, but to a combination of various factors of perinatal period, family environment and rearing behavior. The influence factors of children behavioral problems have gender and urban-rural difference. |
