The Sorts And Causes Of Chinese Lettered Words

On the basis of the existed research findings, the author attempts to explore some problems of lettered-words in Chinese profoundly from these respects:case study, cause of origin, advantages, disadvantages and handling measures.The first chapter describes the lettered-words in Chinese, defines it, distinguishes it, and analyzes the tow main originating sources.The second chapter offers some case studies of lettered-words in Chinese, studies self-evolving lettered-words in Chinese with N as example, studies half-blooded lettered words in Chinese with X-ing words and MTV.The third chapter illustrates the causes of lettered-words in Chinese, from the respects of borrowing language element, social causes and psychological causes.The fourth chapter describes the advantage, disadvantage and handling measures of using lettered-words in Chinese. Lettered-words in Chinese expands Chinese elements and has pragmatic advantage, while destroying the purity of Chinese. We should reasonably evaluate lettered-words in Chinese and take careful advantage of it.
