As the prosperity of burgher economy and marketplace culture in Earlier Song Dynasty (960-1127), Chinese at that time was becoming more and more demotic and colloquial, with Qing Suo Gao Yi as a typical example. Recording plentiful valuable words, Qing Suo Gao Yi, a notes novel, contributes a lot to the language research of Earlier Song Dynasty and the long history of Chinese language development. The focus of this paper is to study intensively the linguistic value of Qing Suo Gao Yi by comparing its words with those in the Chinese Dictionary.This paper is consisted of three parts:First comes the introduction, which presents the author, the popularity, the research background, research meaning and research method of Qing Suo Gao Yi.The second part, core of this paper, omparing morphology and meaning of words in Qing Suo Gao Yi with those in the Chinese Dictionary; This part includes three main aspects:first,12 entries of Qing Suo Gao Yi, which are not recorded in the Chinese Dictionary; second,88 entries of Qing Suo Gao Yi, whose history are longer than the oldest entries with the same meaning in the Chinese Dictionary; three,29entries of Qing Suo Gao Yi, whose meanings are not included in the same entries in the Chinese Dictionary.The last part compares morphology and meaning of words in Qing Suo Gao Yi with those in modern Chinese language. It contains 18 terms with the same morphology but different meaning, and 19 terms with different morphology but the same meaning.
