The teaching model of "Yu Shi Ju Jing" is the extract of researcher's college English teaching practice. Its guiding ideology is innovating education, activating class, and making classroom a place for freeing students'minds. This teaching model is student-oriented. It unleashes students'initiative by creating democratic and harmonious class environment and achieving effective multilateral interactions. In this model, students will take the initiative in learning with specific questions in minds. Through activities like reading, independent thinking, questioning, group discussion and exchange, students can fully exert their initiative and creativity and improve their capabilities of individual study and collaborative learning so as to attain the goal of "speaking" English.This paper includes:Introduction tells the reasons for selecting the topic, the definition of "teaching model", related studies that have been conducted and the basic train of thoughts and methods.The first part briefs on the teaching model of "Yu Shi Ju Jing". The author starts with the connotations of both "Yu Shi Ju Jing" and the teaching model of "Yu Shi Ju Jing". "Yu Shi Ju Jing" has three characteristics-innovative, general and orderly. It not only is homophonic with the Chinese phrase "Yu Shi Ju Jing" which means keeping pace with the times, but also includes the four key elements of teaching model. Meanwhile, it shows the operational procedure of teaching model. When dealing with the connotation of the teaching model of "Yu Shi Ju Jing", the author elaborates on it from four aspects-guiding ideology, basic structure, function and purpose as well as teaching features.The second part presents the structure of the teaching model of "Yu Shi Ju Jing" which comprises three respects:structural foundation, element analysis and operational procedure. The teaching model of "Yu Shi Ju Jing" is based on the learning and teaching theories of structurism and the learning and teaching outlooks of humanism. Its practical basis is the needs of both students and teachers for self-development. This part analyzes the seven elements like student, teacher, the relationship between students and teachers, teaching purpose, teaching contents, teaching methods and teaching environment. And it operates through four phases, namely speaking, timing, sentence-structure teaching and context.The third part explores how to practice the teaching model of "Yu Shi Ju Jing". It discusses the four areas-conditions, principles, tactics and result assessment of implementing the teaching model of "Yu Shi Ju Jing". To verify the operational effect of the teaching model of "Yu Shi Ju Jing", the author conducts some research through interview. By analyzing the interview results, it is proved that the teaching model of "Yu Shi Ju Jing" is an effective class teaching model.Conclusion summarizes the basic opinions of this paper and expects the teaching model of "Yu Shi Ju Jing" to be adopted by more teachers and applied in teaching practice.
