| The paper attempts to inquire into the following aspects of modern North China's rural employment relationship:first of all,the role employed labor played in North China's economy; secondly, the employment of long-term laborers and casual laborers and the flourishing markets of journey work; thirdly, the treatment of the farm laborers which includes the conditions of the farm laborers' pay and the relationship between the employers and the farm laborers. The outcome of the inquiry proves:there generally existed employment relationships in modern North China's rural areas and the markets of journey work were flourishing; the farm laborers' pay was quite poor; and in rural areas dominated by the feudal production relations, farm laborers especially long-term laborers still attached themselves personally to the employers in some degrees, the condition was even worse in some places. |
