The Study On The Tang-Song Ci In The English-speaking World In The Recent Fifty Years

This paper focuses on the Tang-Song Ci research carried by the English-speaking world in the last five decades, combing the research results of Tang-Song Ci,analyzing their main research scope and contents, and summing up which history period and what works of the Tang-Song Ci are favored.This paper also deeply analyzes each of the English monographs and papers, to extract new ideas and new viewpoints on the the origin and literature characteristics of Tang-Song Ci and on the Ci writers and works,and then contrastively analyzes the studies carried by China and the English-speaking countries.The introduction of this paper summarizes the present educational world's attention on the foreign research of the Tang-Song Ci.Chapterâ… describes the overall condition of the foreign Tang-Song Ci research from the research object, the research view and method. The Tang-Song Ci research in English-Speaking countries focused on Wan-Yue Ci, and mainly carried out the research on literature elements of the works,in the research technique,their fruits both had the Chinese literature tradition mark and utilized Western literary criticism methods, such as new criticism, the Western modern linguistics analysis, the image research,Structure Study,genre studies and so on. Chapterâ…¡focuses on analyzing the Ci's history and literary characteristics.Chapterâ…¢to Chapter V discusses separately on the foreign research on master works of the Tang and Five Dynasties, and Song Dynasty period, involving about Wen Ting-yun, Wei Zhuang, Li Yu, Liu Yong, Ouyang Xiu, Su Shi, Zhou Bangyan, Li Qingzhao, Jiang Kui and Wu Wenying. The appendix part of this paper presents the monographs,periodicals thesis on the Tang-Song Ci in the English-speaking world,hoping to provide research reference for the future study.
