While at the end of 19th century, Robert Louis Stevenson, as a Scottish novelist, poet, and travel writer, and a leading representative of Neo-romanticism, became one of the most popular authors up to that time, especially among the youth. This thesis intends to discuss the relationship between the British Romantic Novel and the British Neo-Romantic Novel. Chapter One is to describe the British Romantic Literature of 19th century. Chapter Two is to introduce the British Neo-Romantic Novel. Chapter Three is the comparative study of these two authors.
