By the way of elaborating Bruner's learning theories and discussing its application in English learning process, this thesis attempts to do research the formation and the development of English cognitive learning process, the structure of English knowledge system, the emotional training of English learners and the ultimate formation of English learning strategies are also discussed in this article in order to improve the actual capabilities of using English. There are seven parts in this thesis.Part one: Introduction. The purpose and the current situation of the study are introduced and the actual directive significance is pointed out.Part two: Main contents, background and the theoretical origins of Bruner's learning theories are stated.Part three: Children Intelligence Development Theory is summarized. Besides, by relating it with the cognitive process of English learning, the formation and the development of cognitive process in English learning are explored.Part four: Constructivist Theory is firstly discussed. By combining it with English learning, it plays a directive role in the acquisition, transfer and the evaluation of English knowledge.Part five: Motivation Theory is illustrated, i.e. internal motivation, external strength and the relation among them. Then this theory is applied to the emotional training of the English learners.Part six: Discovery Theory is expatiated. Besides, concrete issues in English learning are solved by using this Theory, i.e. the formation of English learning strategy.Part seven: Bruner's basic learning theories are independent in form, but Child Intellectual Development Theory, Constructivist Theory, Motivation Theory and Discovery Learning Theory are closely related with each other. English learning can be greatly promoted if these theories can be combined together and used to guide English learning. |
