Intimated Friend In Life And Double Jade In Translation

Lu Xun and Qu Qiubai were outstanding representatives of the modern translation cause and also the pioneers of a translation style, their theory and practice of translation make great contributions to Chinese modern translation and take an important place in the modern history of Chinese literature and translation thought.This paper begins with the deep friendship and close cooperation between Lu Xun and Qu Qiubai, through making a comparison of the purpose, value and method held by them, and then finds that they have the same purpose of enlightenment and the value of translation and creation being equal important as well and that their differences are just between westernized language and spoken language, and the differences are caused by their different social identities of litterateur and statesman and different recipients in their enlightenment which caused by their different social identities as well. In the practice of translation, although they have different experiences and different ways of translation, they show the same interest in the literature of Russia and the Soviet Union and pay attention to Marxist literature thought in common, and it can be said that they are a perfect pair and form a delightful contrast.
