Although the South Korean youth idol drama started late, up until now it is already quite mature and got great repercussions among Chinese audiences. The Chinese youth idol drama started in 1997, but has not developed in a good trend, which should be carefully considered. Therefore, this article compares the Chinese and south Korean youth idol drama from three different angles, the narrative strategy, intercultural communication, production management and cultural strategies, highlight the advantages of South Korean youth idol drama and the disadvantages of Chinese youth idol drama to identify the gaps between the two countries in order to give some practical measures and proposals to improve the production and development of Chinese youth idol drama.Chapter I focus on the comparison of narrative strategy, it's mainly about four comparisons, the surreal fiction strategy, aesthetics of tragedy, the operation of the idol as well as the romantic of sound and pictures. Chapter II interprets the comparison of intercultural communication through three different aspects between Chinese and South Korean youth idol drama, the traditional Confucian culture, family-based ethics and the conversion of traditional culture in modern China and South Korea. Chapter III is the comparison of production, management and cultural strategies, from production processes, business strategies, cultural strategies to target audience. Based on the previous three chapters of advantages and disadvantages comparison between Chinese and South Korean youth idol drama, Chapter IV explores a way out for China's youth idol drama in the development plight, crisis coexists with opportunity, red idol drama "Qia Tong Xue Shao Nian" gives a certain amount of inheritance and the breakthrough to the set pattern of the youth idol drama. Based on local community, learn from the successful experiences of South Korea, creating our own brand is the direction of development and the aim to be achieved in the future for Chinese youth idol drama.
