| State-Adjectives are used to describe state of things or actions and they play an important role in the Chinese word-class. As representatives of the prose historical narratives in the pre-Qin dynasty, the comparative study of State Adjective in "Tso Chuan" and "Shih Chi" can not only compensate banks in the area of special study in special books, but also provide some basis for the research of State- Adjectives diachronic evolution.This paper based on "Tso Chuan" and "Shih Chi" and used the methods of static description, quantitative statistics, inductive reasoning and comparison. This paper aimed to analyze the structure types, grammatical functions and semantic features and discussed the evolution tendency and evolution mechanism of the State-Adjectives in "Tso Chuan" and "Shih Chi".The second chapter adopt traditional classification standards and divided the State-Adjectives into seven types: A, Ax, AB, AA, AAx, AABB, and ABAB. The second chapter calculated the using times and frequency for each type and compared the similarities and differences of the structure types between "Tso Chuan" and "Shih Chi".The third chapter focused on syntax functions and notational devices, described and analyzed the State-Adjectives in "Tso Chuan" and "Shih Chi". For the dimension of syntactic functions, the third chapter mainly analyzed the ability to act as certain syntax component. For the dimension of notational devices, the third chapter mainly analyzed the markedness for State-Adjectives to act as certain syntax component. Finally, we compared the similarities and differences of the grammatical functions between "Tso Chuan" and "Shih Chi".The forth chapter used plereme analysis method and did classification, description and statistics on semantic features of the State-Adjectives in "Tso Chuan" and "Shih Chi". The forth chapter also compared the similarities and differences of the semantic features between "Tso Chuan" and "Shih Chi". Finally, the paper summarized the evolution tendency in structure types, grammatical functions and semantic features and discussed the evolution mechanism of the State-Adjectives in "Tso Chuan" and "Shih Chi". |
