Mongolian's Water Worship

This paper mainly talks about the formation of Mongolian water worship sources and its detail folklore activities. The formation of Mongolian water worship sources is regarded as the nature and social resource, man's belief resource. As the nature and social resource is mentioned, it indicates the effects of Mongolian nature living condition, nomadic production way, and the cause of living form. The resource of man's concepts is concerned with the Mongolian's special view on water. Mongolian believe that everything has its soul, so they think that water has its own host, and even regard it as a life. This kind of view makes water- one of nature things more visualized and more mysterious. The necessary reason of Mongolian water worship formation is based on the combination of nature condition and the way of Mongolian's living production.This paper elaborates the customs of water worship from two aspects. One is the sacrificing water. The other is the customs of water reverence. In sacrificed customs part, the author explains the sacrificing customs of Fount Obo and Well water. In customs of water reverence part, the author analyses the cultural connotation of protecting water resources customs, adoring fount water customs, the water cleaning customs, and the water taboo.Based on the specific analysis above, the author regards the concept of Mongolian's water worship and its ceremony as an indispensable part in Mongolian customs. This kind of concept and ceremony can harmoniously connect with the nature surroundings, and even it can take an important role in protecting ecological effectively.
