Investigation Of The Color About Cloud Brocade In Qing Dynasty And Its Application

Cloud brocade, mainly characterized by its gold thread and decorative design, got the name for its well-selected materials and its colorful and elegant designs like the cloud in the sky.the brocade inherit the process of Chinese ancient silk tradition of excellence with a clear,strong local characteristics.The colors of brocade are the most prominent performance in all of the features,and through refer to books and doucuments found that the research about the colors of brocade are less and wide. Specifically for the colors characteristics of a dynasty are not discussed in depth.The Qing Dynasty was a period of economic and political prosperity in Chinese history, and fashion was also well developed in this period. Based on the achievements of Ming Dynasty, Cloud brocade, both officially produced and non-officially produced, in the Qing Dynasty attained its maturity. During Kangxi and Yongzheng periods of the Qing Dynasty, there were more than 3,000 weaving machines in Jinling City. What deserves to be mentioned is the progress of techniques on making gold thread, the improved quality, and various decorating methods with gold, better than that of Ming Dynasty. As a result, the brocade became more delicate and beautiful. Furthermore, compared with other dynasties, The Qing Dynasty has handed down more products, which is good for us to know the achievements on the weaving techniques and color matching of cloud brocade, and to dig and abstract the artistic value of the cloud brocade futher,and to broaden the field of development and application of the cloud brocade,making this ancient silk craft combined with modern clothing and fashion culture making this artistic value is acceptable for more people, and to add glory to this unique art.So,this discourse use the Qing dynasty as background to explore the characteristics of the color of the cloud brocade. Discover traditional and creat fashion.This article uses the literature analysis,the chart article to prove and on-the-spot investigation to research the historical perspectiveof cloud brocade, the color's forming factor of cloud brocade, the color characteristic in Qing Dynasty and in the modern clothing's application. This paper mainly focuses on the color characteristic in Qing Dynasty and in the modern clothing's application and summarizes the rule of how to use the color of cloud brocade and the methods in the modern clothing's application.
