Carl Gustav Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist, is an important figure in the fields of psycholog. Jung initiates the analytical psychology. He also puts forward some new concepts such as prototype and collective unconscious which enrichs the content of psychology. His prototype theory is widely used in literature. It provides a new theoretical basis to literary criticism. Jung's theoretical system is great and miscellaneous, full of complex imageries and hard to grasp. In addition to the theory of prototype and collective unconscious, Jung always mentions the hallucination and shows unusual attention to it. But Jung isn't give a systematic exposition to it. The experience in hallucination is an important basis of the theory of prototype and collective unconscious. The investigation on hallucination can improve the present study of Jung, and contribute to a more deeper understanding of Jung's whole theoretical system. Take the contents as a standard, Jung's experience on hallucinations can be roughly divided into conversion type and ghost-god type. The former can be divided into religiou type and subconscious type. The latter one is composed of four types: saint, ghost, death and supernatural. These types of hallucination are all play a role more or less in the devolopment of Jung's theory. Jung divedes the subconscious into four phases: Latency-Hrigger-Collision-Harmony. This process could be applied to literature and gets a unique value in the research on writer's works and creation. On the one hand, the theory of hallucination studies writer's mentality from the angle of psychology. The character of their thinking mothed can be concluded to three points: imagination, fantasy and mystery. The diccussion on writers' easy to suffer from the mental illness is more professional on psychology than only research on literature. On the other hand, Jung praises the hallucinatory work pretty highly. He believes that the theory of hallucination is also have a greate value on literary criticism. Take two typical hallucinatory works, "Faust" and "Divine Comedy" for example. Analyzing them with this theory, we could discover the hidden structure in the two works. The structure also has an identity with the operation mode of subconscious. We could get new inspiration on this viewpoint. Jung's theory of hallucination contributes to the integrity of his theoretical system. It is practical in literary criticism and has a great enlightening significance in related fields. But the theory is not perfect too. Uncertain concepts, a single observation angle, lack of rational thinking. For these defects, we must pay more attention to this theory in study and application.
