Pursuit Of Aesthetic Modernity On Avant-garde Novel

Avant-garde novel appeared in late 1980s. Because of new concept on literature, unique theme of novel and experiment on text, it has become an unavoidable hot topic in the history of Chinese literature in the 20^th, especially to the Chinese contemporary novels. This paper wants to analyze the avant-garde novel through the aspect of aesthetic modernity to discuss its gain and loss. The new concept on literature, unique theme of novel and experiment on text, all of them display the pursuit of aesthetic modernity of avant-garde novel. However, this pursuit of aesthetic modernity is on the base of seeking the society modernity of China in the 20^th. It is the character of avant-garde novel to go in for the aesthetic modernity, even to the all Chinese literature in the 20^th.
