| The Origin of the Work of Art (hereinafter referred to as Origin )which talks about art is the medium-term masterpiece of Heidegger's works. As to origin's naming, academics tend to name them with aesthetics, poetics, the philosophy of art and so on. I believe that the philosophy of art is the most reasonable naming, because the collected works reflect his artistic philosophy. Origin's main purpose is to search for the origin of the work of art. It expounds the truth and elucidates the relationship between truth and art.Heidegger's understanding of art is all from his philosophy of ontology. Therefore, he carries out the truth of Being and thus gives a new interpretation of truth .With this he reinterprets art.In the origin, Heidegger analysis Van Gogh's "agricultural shoes" and the Greek temple Poetically. He believes that the nature of art is the setting-into-work of truth. To know truth deeply, he re-traces back to ancient Greece. The truth, is uncovering and the being of the beings. Structural forms of truth are "World" and "Earth". "World" is the meaning of opening and " Earth" is the emergencing from the covering. "World" and "Earth" are mutually strive with each other. Heidegger also gives "beauty" a new interpretation. He says that the "beauty" is to coming out when it happens and its manifestation is the work generated by the "brightness". It is different from the modern times which truth, goodness and beauty are of the logic defined boundaries. So it is highly instructive. Heidegger's thinking of art preservation of the works is to retain the truth rather than purely physical preservation. Therefore, only focusing on "World" and "Earth" of the works is the real preservation of works of art.Heidegger gives a criticism to the essence of the traditional art nature as Reproduction and Performance. He thinks Reproduction and Performance are all built on the basis of traditional metaphysical. Heidegger recognizes the artist's unique creative talents, but opposes to link works and artists when understanding works. He believes that the works has an independent artistic value after the completion of works of art. Therefore, Heidegger makes works of art, artists, art as an art circle. In order to explore the nature of art, Heidegger uses phenomenon. He thinks the traditional way of inductive method and deductive method are not correct. By using phenomenon, he confront the "whether or not agricultural shoes" controversy. Shapiro points out that the "agricultural shoes" are Van Gogh's own shoes, rather than the peasant woman's shoes. I believe that this case can be best explained from ontology, phenomenon and hermeneutics .In the origin Heidegger analyses equipment and thing. He points out that the traditional concept of the nature of art is misleading by the nature of the equipment and thing. Works of art are often interpreted as a semi-thing semi-synthetic equipment. Heidegger believes that the traditional way of knowing thing is wrong. Because they always think thing in the tradition of rational thinking and technology. The thingness of the thing has been hoodwinked. In his view, only in works of art that thing truly demonstrates what it is. The real thing is the "Earth".Heidegger's re-considering of art bases on ontology. He tries to avoid the subject-object opposition and understands art better. |
