Republic Of China Period Research Of History Of Chinese Art Commentary

Republic of China in the 20th century was a special period. In this period, the numerous fine arts historians studied the development of history of China's art extensively and deeply. The achievements of the research for the contemporary our study of the history of art has an important value and meaning. It's a very important and difficult task for our researchers of art history to compile and evaluate them.First, this paper tries from the Republic of China period history of art research condition to start, analyzes the progresses which its research obtains, including two aspects: One was the researchers increased with the changes of academic structure; The other was the types of achievements of the research were rich and the general history writing become the mainstream. In this period, the researchers not only were domestic artists, art historians and some scholars, but also some foreign researchers of history of Chinese art. Their efforts promoted the diversification of the research of history of Chinese art in the Republic of China period. In this period, there are four main types of achievements of history of Chinese art: the research of general history, the research of dating history, the research of classification history, the research of monographic history. In addition, there are some other kinds of researches of history of Chinese art.Second, what this paper more attention is fine arts history ideas transformed; the methods of history of art research expanded; work writing pattern changed in the Republic of China time Chinese history of art research; These were major issues which influenced the history of art research. On these issues, more studies of the history of Chinese art reflected the combinational characteristics which inherited traditions and referred the West. Issues in arts history ideas, they both inherited the traditional arts history ideas which praised the ancient times and despised the nowadays, and pulled in and applied the western evolutional history ideas, cultural history ideas, historical materialism ideas; Issues in art history research methods, they both inherited traditional textual criticism, and pulled in and applied archeology, stylistics, sociology, anthropology, and folklore and so on. Issues in art history writing modes, they both used the traditional author-based art history writing clues, and used some new art history writing clues, such as style analysis of works form clues, analysis of social context clues, preparatory theory and concept clues. Otherwise, the writing modes of the works, on the one hand, inherited the tradition, on the other hand, referred from the Western and Japanese works of modern art history, mainly applied the classification compilation, simultaneously the new classification collection and works commentary also appeared.At last, this paper points out that it existed the limitation of the research of Chinese art in the Republic of China period: Such as it emphasis nationality too much; It was "impulse" and "blind" when imported Western culture thought; The early works of history of Chinese art depended on "the Japanese pattern"; the deviation of the researchers understood and used the historical materialism and so on.In this paper, I use some research methods, such as the literature material and the textual criticism, the compilation of export-oriented and import-oriented view, interview and so on. In addition, the writing is divided into two clues: one is the study about the comparative of the history of ancient and modern Chinese art; the other is the study about the comparative of the Chinese art history and the Western art history. According to a comparative study and a general assessment, there is a general impression of the study of the history of Chinese art in this period for readers, in order to provide some reasons to make them do their own judgments.
