Perspective And Expression: Realism Situations Of The Chinese Contemporary Arts In The 90s

In the field of Chinese contemporary arts in the 90s of the 20^th century, artists, drawing on the contemporary real life as backgrounds, constitute Chinese contemporary arts with multi-realistic approaches by means of contemporarization artistic means. It is widely acknowledged that Chinese contemporary arts take on its contemporary society from a new perspective in the Chinese contemporary arts field. The problems like 'how to construct the Chinese contemporary realism from a new perspective in the 90s' and 'To what extent does the individual perspective differ among the contemporary artists' have received relatively less attention in the Chinese contemporary theory field. The realistic approach and constructs to the Chinese contemporary arts, in this paper, provides a theoretical review on realism situations of the Chinese contemporary arts in the 90s, and also foregrounds a theoretical reflection on the development trends of Chinese contemporary arts in the 90s.The present paper, first constructs the theoretical essence of 'Realism' and definitions of Chinese contemporary arts in the 90s, puts forward the realism situations of Chinese contemporary arts in the 90s, and presents such features as 'the increasing interwoven relation between arts and reality', 'An enriching approaches to reflections of arts on the reality' and 'a diversifying reflection ways of arts on the reality'.The major work of this paper is to provide a theoretical review on realism situations of the Chinese contemporary arts by collecting, analysing, sorting and summarising of numerous documents. In the aspect of a theoretical review on realism situations of the Chinese contemporary arts in the 90s, the present paper, first respectively define the concept of New Generation Arts, Cynical Realism, Pop Art, Gaudy Art and Women's Art and Conceptual Art. Moreover, it will reduce the realistic approach of each category of art to the realistic life, realistic culture, female survivalism and realistic problem on this basis. And in the aspect of a theoretical review on realism situations of the Chinese contemporary arts in the 90s, the paper, summarizes respectively the realistic approach of New Generation Arts and Cynical Realism, Pop Art, Gaudy Art and Women's Art and Conceptual Art as the fragment of realistic life, the definition deconstruction of political image, secular expression of life tokens, metaphor of synthetic image and independent integration of media art.The commonness and individuality of realism situations of the Chinese contemporary arts in the 90s is the theoretical reflection of the realistic approach and constructs to the Chinese contemporary arts.
