A Study On The Structure Of "V+ge+X" From Subjectivity Perspective

The phrase of"V+ge+X"is a very common structure, especially in spoken Chinese. It consists of three basic components: V, ge, andX, and"ge"can be called the core component of the whole structure, which completely represents the features of this phrase. With the classification of another component"X", the entire structure can also be divided into"V+ge+NP"and"V+ge+VP"these two branches.Grammaticalization always happens with subjectivisation simultaneously. During the grammaticalization of"ge", the phrase with it will also boost up in subjectivisation, which shows high subjectivity. Based on the abundant language facts, this thesis aims to analyze the phrase of"V+ge+X"from the perspective of subjectivity and subjectivisation, including the characteristics of its subjective quantity.In the introduction part, the thesis introduces the composing background, purpose, scope and used theories and methods. After that, the thesis focuses on the subjectivity of"V+ge+X"from the perspective of lexicon, syntax and text. In the third part, the thesis also makes an investigation on the subjective quantity of the whole structure, and gets the conclusion that"V+ge+NP"refers to the lower degree while"V+ge+VP"refers to the upper degree. According to such kind of opposing distribution, the thesis tries to give a reasonable explanation. The last chapter is the conclusion, making some suggestions for the future research on the topic under investigation.
