| While a war of aggression against China was initiated by the Eight-Power Allied Forces in 1900, many Anti-Christian Cases took place frequently in South China which was involved in"The South-East Mutual Protection". However, the related studies on these cases are mostly focused on significant ones. This paper selects the Anti-Christian Cases in Hunan and Hubei region as the study objects, tring to inspect and analyze the historical facts of the Anti-Christian Campaign in this region at that moment and its similarities and differences, and then have a better understanding of"The South-East Mutual Protection", Anti-Christian Cases and other related issues from another perspec- tive.This paper consists of four parts: In the first part, the social background will be introduced, which mainly includes the Boxer Rebellion,"The South-East Mutual Protection"and the specific social environment in Hunan and Hubei region; In the second part, based on inspecting, adding and revising the historical facts relating to Hunan and Hubei region, the author will try to make a complete and detailed treatise about these Anti-Christian Cases in this area; In the third part, the negotiating process of the Anti-Christian Cases occurred in Hengzhou, Huangzhou and Xiangyang will be present. After that, the results will be compared and analyzed; In the fourth part, dueing to the special background, these Anti-Christian Cases in Hunan and Hubei region during this period were deeply marked with a imprint of the times. The article will analyze the impact of the situation in North China and the role of"The South-East Mutual Protection". Owing to the regional differences between Hunan and Hubei in Anti-Christian Cases, this article will compare them so as to deepen the understanding. |
