Research On The Dialect's Pronunciation In Tongguan Town, Wangcheng County, Hunan Province

Tongguan Town lies in a triangle region in the north of Wangcheng County.It has a long history.But there are few current literatures of research on the local language nor any monographs of systematic research on the dialect.So in order to find out the true facts of Tongguan dialect,based on the surveys in fields,the author of the thesis did a detailed description and summary on the language system and the main character of Tongguan dialect.She also did a comparison with other dialects in surrounding areas.This thesis will fill the blank of the research on Tongguan dialect.The thesis consists of five parts.The first part is introduction,which briefly introduces the geography, history,population,the facts of using language in Tongguan Town and the current situation of dialect research there and the focus,significance and method of the research.Chapter 1 analyses the character of speech sounds in Tongguan Town, including the system of initial consonants and final consonants,and the coordination relationship of them.Chapter 2 describes the different pronunciation between the classical and the vernacular,including the different pronunciation of initial consonants,final consonants and the tone.Chapter 3 reorganizes the table of homophone in Tongguan Town.Chapter 4 does a comparison with other dialects in surrounding areas and understands more about the character of Tongguan dialect.
