Rome once more than a small city-located on Tiber River's riverside in the middle of Italy, but rapidly developed into a empire possessing vast territory, occupying three continents including Europe, Asia and Africa. Ancient Rome civilization was also the greatest in ancient world. After the Roman Empire demised, Europe had never been wide-ranging and close unified like the time of the Roman Empire, nor did any country took the Mediterranean as their inland sea. People lived and worked in peace, economy grew rapidly and society developed progressively, but subsequent wind of luxurious enjoyment and pleasure seeking life was prevailing , people of all ranks and classes in Roman empire, from the Emperor down to the Slaves, as well as the most loyal and brave army began to corrupt. Roman Empire was facing an unprecedented crisis.This thesis is intended to discuss in detail the social situation during the third century from its politics, economy, military and other aspects, as well as the causes underlying the outbreak of the crisis so that explore the influence of the great crisis that caused the demise of the Roman Empire. The whole thesis divided into three parts.The first part expatiates the reasons for the crisis in the third century of Rome Empire. Since was the city built, Rome had become the overlord in the Mediterranean region with the development of the Empire. Roman people lost their fighting spirit in light of the powerful Roman Empire. The whole city was immersed in feast. Urban elite, and high-ranking officials and noblemen at all ranks gradually became corrupt, military deteriorated, together with a variety of disasters befell, these situation extended to the late Empire, and finally lead to the crisis in the third century.The second part describes all sorts of social contradictions in the third century crisis. Roman Empire was a mixture composed of a large territory, multi-ethnic and all kinds of military forces. Some agents were sent to the center of each region for joining management by the emperor. In the third century, the civil war, military unrest and the local military rebellion, some corps attempted to usurp and a variety of disputes within the royal family, resulting in the conflict between in these separate factors that composed the Roman world was more and more prominent. But Rome Government and the aristocracy can not resolve these contradictions, let them alone to develop, to the last they outbroke entirely, bringing unprecedented chaos and enormous losses to Roman Empire.The third part analyses the serious consequences by the crisis in the third century. Roman Empire was no longer shining after the crisis in the third century. People no longer believed the empire and instead they pinned their hopes on religion, which made Christianity legal status. The military of Roman Empire was vulnerable after their battle during the third century. Along with the foreign invaders in the border and the divisive activities on the Province of Rome, Roman Empire eventually died out step by step.
