Adverb reduplication widely exists in many languages and it is a phenomenon worth of studying.This thesis mainly related to the theory and methods of typology as a guide,combined with the theory of contrastive linguistics,using these ways as follows:form and meaning, diachronic and synchronic,static and dynamic,descriptive and interpretive to make a comprehensive investigation from various angles. In the analysis,the paper observed that we could achieve full and adequate descriptions to explain it.Six parts that compose the thesis are as follows,Chapter 1 Introduction:It outlines the object of study,theoretical methods and innovation.In detail,it confirms the characters and the scopes of the reduplication;also it introduces the present situation of the research,the methods and the resources of this thesis.Chapter 2:It studies the adverb reduplication on typological perspective.According to the statistics of authoritative dictionaries and the search of official corpus,we conclude a reference table of adverb reduplication.Then we classify them as several types and research the different types in minority languages and foreign languages.Chapter 3:It analyzes the adverb reduplication on semantic perspective.It spreads from the semantic type,the relation of basic form and reduplicative form,source of semantic meanings relating to adverb.Chapter 4:It studies the adverb reduplication on the grammar perspective.It emphasizes syntactic and match functions.The syntactic functions deal with the distribution of sorts of sentences and the position order.The match functions involve the choice of the syllables,suffix, negative and the fixed combination with quantifier.Chapter 5:It focuses on the internal and external causes of adverb reduplication.Chapter 6 Conclusion:It summarizes the main point of the thesis, and indicates the limitation and the direction for further research.
