Laozi said, By holding to the ancient Tao, You can manage present existence. And know the primordial beginning, This is called the very beginning thread of the Tao. Establishing art education system with Chinese characteristics, it needs us to research and excavate the tradition, and use ancient reference to foretell today, carefully hackle traditional education though, explore its origin, understand its venation, renewedly know modern value, so that we innovate and use it. This paper offers consulting and reference to currently Chinese art teaching target reform through differentiate and hackle Taoism education thought and reveal its original character.This paper consists of four chapters.The first chapter: it introduces respectively education thought of four representative persons of Taoism, including laozi, zhuangzi, jikang and gehong , so that we excavate and abstract a distillation of Taoism education thought. we think that Taoism education thought has three characteristics. Firstly, it pays attention to person; Secondly, it attaches importance to develop thought and analysis ability; Thirdly, it emphasizes to aspire after a paragon of virtue.The second chapter: it verifies the existence rationality of Taoism education thought with some theories, for example modern psychology and pedagogy. The author verify and attest to having strong vitality and preponderance of Taoism education thought through introducing modern famous theory, for instance humanistic psychology, high experience, Gestalt psychology , phenomenology and so on.The third chapter: it is the principal part of this paper. It firstly summarizes research productions of current Chinese art teaching target, and detailedly introduces Taoism education thought reference to current art teaching target. The author hackles Taoism education thought above chapter, and links it with current art teaching reality , then, it discusses that Taoism education thought consults and enlights the current art teaching target, and argues respectively through three aspects of teaching target including of knowledge and skill target, process and method target, and sentiment attitude and value target. The fourth chapter: it mainly discusses that Taoism education thought practice and application in art teaching. The author finds some excellent art teaching practice and cases which incarnate Taoism education thought, further makes Taoism education thought into practical application finally.In education reform tidal wave and in the position of art new curriculum and target being instituted and practiced, we again must survey traditional education thought, excavate its further value. However, it is impossible to any historical tradition making effect completely. Even if excellent tradition, we must combine to practice needs and conditions, and inherit and develop it. Thereby, How does Chinese modern art education face the tradition? How do we make new annotation to the tradition? How does it combine to practice in real-life condition?...
