On One-agent Logic Of Many Kinds Preference

Preference is a common cognitive phenomenon which is studied in many disciplines.As early as the period of ancient Greece,Aristotle put forward the theory of preference;von Wright ushered in a new area of preference Logic in 1963;In the past two decades,preference has been discussed by researchers majoring in policymaking,economics,computer science and philosophy.And preference plays an increasingly important role so that we can catch a preferred cross-research field.Since the variety of causes and showings of preference,divergence in showing and reasoning mechanism could be found in research.As soon as the study furthered and promoted,new requirements appear:While current preference research focus on particular type of preference under certain conditions,we have to confront the co-existence of many preferences in constructing axiomatic systems or changing an agent from ideal existence to a real one.Thus,it is an urgent mission to confirm brief showings and reasoning methods to serve the descriptions of preferences.In terms of problems associated with the co-existence of many types of preference,this thesis constructs a system of logic of many kinds preference.There are four parts in this thesis.Part 1 talks about the history and current situations of the study on preference in terms of Logic.I will examine Aristotle's preference Logic,which is basing on the consideration of effectiveness.Also,I will try to give the value of current study on preference logic.Part 2 probes on von Wright's preference logic,which is basing on 3 assumptions.I will examine other experts' improvement of von Wright's logic, delineate their relation,and try to grasp the possibility of current study on preference logic.And then,I will analyze the necessity of study on many kinds preference logic.Part 3 is mainly about many kinds preference Logic which can be named as MKPL.Basing on works done,I will suggest a concept of ultra-preference relations and divide preferences into 4 kinds with respect to the relations.Then,I will try to construct system MKPL according to propositional Logic.Also,I will give an argument to the consistency and completeness of the system.This is the core of my thesis.Finally,I will assess system MKPL,pointing its inadequate aspects and works to be furthered in research.
