The Preliminary Study Of The Bereavement Crisis Oping Style Of The "Long Horns Miao" People In Suojia Area

In essence,the coping styles of the bereavement crisis are various methods and strategies which to slow or eliminate the psychological trauma and impact caused by bereavement events.At present,there are more researches on crisis coping styles at home and abroad,but the coping styles to bereavement events,especially for minority are less studied.This research attempts to formulate a scale of bereavement crisis coping styles for the "Long Horns Miao" people,which was based on the former researches,in order to further understand their characteristics and model in dealing with the bereavement events,and to give concrete direction and guidance for the psychological crisis intervention.In order to achieve the desired objectives,the research strictly follows the request of scaling,and puts forward the theoretical hypothesis of the Bereavement Crisis Coping Style of the "Long Horns Miao" by summarizing the documents,visiting the people,and consulting experts,on the base of it,we form the elementary questionnaire,then we develop the formal questionnaire through the factor analysis of the informal questionnaire and verifying its reliability and validity.We use the formal questionnaire to investigate the "Long Horns Miao" who suffered bereavement,and we use the Structural Equation Model to test the theoretical structure of the questionnaire,and analyse the relation between it and SCL-90 scale.The main results of this study are as follows:(1) The questionnaire of the bereavement crisis coping style for the "Long Horns Miao" was self-compiled,which conforms to the requirements of psychometrics,it has good reliability and validity.It can be used as a scale suitable to measure the bereavement crisis coping styles of the "Long Horns Miao",it also can be the tools to predict mental health and guide the crisis intervention.(2) The Bereavement Crisis Coping Style of the "Long Horns Miao" includes four dimensions:ceremony coping;shrinking coping;denial coping;negative advoiding coping.(3) The features of the Bereavement Crisis Coping Style of the "Long Horns Miao" is very significant.They mainly adopt ceremony coping,shrinking coping,denial coping and negative advoiding coping,the whole appears immaturity on the coping styles.(4) In general,the different gender in bereavement crisis coping styles have no significant differences.But there is gender difference on the dimension of negnative advoiding coping,the man more frequently adopts it than woman.(5) A significant negative correlation exists between the Bereavement Crisis Coping Style of the "Long Horns Miao"and its overall dimentions and SCL-90 and its overall dimentions.The sores of the "Long Horns Miao" on SCL-90 is higher than the normal,which shows their psychological health level is lower than the national average.(6) We use SCL-90 dimensions to predict the bereavement crisis coping styles,the results is only the hostile variables entered the regression equation,and variables explained is 11.7%on predicting the shrinking coping style;to predict the denial coping style,only the hostile variables entered the regression equation,and variables explained is 17.5%;to predict the negative avoiding coping style,only the hostile variables entered the regression equation,and variables explained is 7.2%.
