The era of information economy cultivates the knowledge workers and these knowledge workers are urgently needed for the organization development.Meanwhile, the work-family role of knowledge worker is undergoing tremendous changes. Undoubtedly,the knowledge workers' attitudes towards work-family relationship will directly or indirectly affect their subjective well-being.Based on the special conditions of Chongqing,the youngest municipal city, combining the social issues the writer has participated during the study period,besides the advantage of convenience for the investigation in Chongqing,this study has conducted the questionnaire survey of knowledge workers in Chongqing by adopting the revised work-family attitude scale,combined with the subjective well-being scale, mainly through the E-mail form to complete the questionnaire survey.And finally it drew the conclusion of the recycled valid questionnaires and statistics through careful analysis,including the descriptive statistics analysis,factor analysis,variance analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis,etc.The conclusions are listed below:â… The revised work-family attitude scale is good in reliability and validity,and can be used in the measurement of the knowledge workers' work-family attitude.â…¡The score about the attitudes of the knowledge workers in Chongqing can be listed according to the sequence from up to down:Work-family balance > spouse's supportive attitude > working center > independence> family center>dominance.â…¢In Chongqing,knowledge workers' overall subjective well-being are in the upper level.â…£The relationship between the work-family attitudes and the subjective wellbeing of a knowledge worker is very close,and the elements of work-family attitude are remarkable with the subjective well-being.â…¤The demographic variant has different relationships with work-family attitude, subjective well-being,mainly include:â…°Different genders have remarkable different attitudes towards work-family. Generally speaking,the subjective well-being of female knowledge workers is stronger than that of the male workers.â…±The work-family balance between knowledge workers,with both husband and wife are working in the same place and knowledge workers with husband and wife working in different places is remarkably different,but not in other dimensions.In general,the subjective well-being of the former workers is better than the latter one.â…²As far as the balance in work-family dimension is concerned,great difference lies between those who need to take care of the elderly or children and those without elderly or children to take care.This is not reflected the same in other dimensions.For subjective well-being,there is no significant difference between the former kind and the latter kind.â…³In family-center dimensions,as the age of knowledge workers grows,their family-centered requirement is more and more intense,while the requirement for the work-center becomes relatively weak.Workers who are 30 or less than 30 years old demand the minimum of the spouse.With the growth of the age,the demand becomes higher and higher,until gradually lowered after the age of 50.Knowledge workers between 31-50 years old require more support from their spouse.Employees,less than 30 years old and over the age of 50,their demand for dependence is not as great as employees,aged between 30 and 50.Significant difference exists between different ages and subjective well-being,knowledge workers,aged between 30 and 50,have the strongest subjective well-being.â…´The lower education level,the more family-oriented worker he is.The higher education level,the more work-centered he is,with lower demand of the spouse.At the spouses support dimension,the general trend is that support from the spouse rises with the improvement of education level.In the aspect of happiness index and life satisfaction,the index of workers with diploma and bachelor degrees is lower than workers without college degree or having a master degree and above.In general,the education level has a close relationship with the subjective well-being.â…µWith the extension of the working period,the balance between work-family and the feeling of independence become stronger,while the spouse's support demonstrates a trend of decline.However,their life satisfaction presents an overall rising trend.â…¶In dimensions of independence and dominance,the employees at state-owned enterprises and institutions get higher score than employees at other workplaces,which demonstrates that the employees at the state-owned enterprises and institutions have greater subjective well-being.â…·Employees at the grass-root and intermediate level of the management are especially work-oriented,employees below the grass-roots want to get more support from their spouse.The higher level their position is,the stronger their subjective well-being is.â…¸Employee whose monthly income is 1000 RMB or below(relative to the minimum) and 5,000 RMB or above(relative to the highest),especially those work-oriented employees with high salary,get less support from spouse.And employees with relatively lowest income and employees with relatively highest income have stronger subjective well-being than the rest of the staff with intermediate monthly income.â…¹The employees in an organization with less than 300 members are more work-oriented than the staff in other kind of organizations.But the size of organization has no influence on the dimension of work-family attitude,so it is with the subjective well-being.Finally,this paper discusses and analysis the questionnaire survey results and put forward some suggestions for the management and individual from the perspective of Management and Psychology,meanwhile,it makes a prospect for the future direction of further development.
