Abstract/Summary:
Chinese painting is a painting form rooted in the soil of Chinese culture, which boasts the unique painting language of its own. The Chinese painting has accumulated a wealth of cultural deposits over the long course of history, and every age has had a large number of corresponding works associated with the theory of Chinese painting, which make the Chinese painting become so extensive and profound, however which also enshroud the real intention of Chinese painting. The theory of western visual culture has been imperceptibly affecting our way of thinking; if the painting is only deemed as the product of vision, its disappearance shall no longer be strange. Painting is the result of the interaction of visual language and tactile language, and both are indispensable. A way, which shall be able to scale off the said covering, should be found to display the real intention of Chinese painting, and the reduction theory of Taoism has become the best choice. In this paper, the author tries to revert the Chinese painting into tactile language to re-understand it, through which process, the author hopes that the concept that the Chinese paining is a tactile language could be recognized, and even be used in practice, to make the conjecture on tactile language of Chinese Painting become a reality.
