Researches On Historical Materials Value Of "Qing Bo Za Zhi"

The sketchbook of Qing bo za zhi that Zhou hui in Song dynasty wrote is based on the writer's seeing,experiencing and hearing.It is paid much attention by a lot of later writers because it includes many useful materials.Sketchbooks of Song occupied the important position in the literature history and historiography history of ancient times,among them recording the notes of some information and interesting episode have reference of literature and historiography,can consult and supplementary with national history.Thus,they have high historical reference value. But all the time,the scholars just utilize its material to be engaged in relevant academic research, and there is fewer comprehensive research to the whole book,and nor a monograph about this book yet,so its historical materials value has not got better embodiment.For the reasons mentioned above,the author chooses this as research topic.This thesis made a research on some questions,such as the biography of Zhou hui,the origin of historical materials and the worth of it.This thesis consists of four major parts and makes total textual criticism and commentary to the book Qing Bo Za Zhi.In the first part,the author investigates the author Zhou hui's life,which is basically the summaries and supplementary of the Past scholars' materials and views.About the compiling of Qing Bo Za Zhi,it is mainly because the author was born in an official family,and he liked listening to some interesting things about imperial examinations,inquiring the older generation and good friends the thing about imperial examinations,then recorded the things of imperial examinations that the author understands in the book.Then the author of this thesis introduces spreading and edition situation of the book. According to the analysis mentioned above,we may fred out the value and the situations of collecting of the book.In part two,the author investigates the source of historical materials of Qing Bo Za Zhi.The chief value of the sketchbook lies in that they often widely reflect the historical facts in such aspects as some social history,personage,custom,etc.So its historical materials value is paid much attention by scholars.In order to study the value of the historical materials,the prerequisite is to investigate the source of the historical materials.The historical materials of Qing Bo Za Zhi mainly stemmed from four aspects.Firstly,the historical books:from the content of this book that reflected,this book has quoted Han shu,Zhan Guo Ce,History of Song Dynasty and Zi Zhi Tong Jian etc.Many handbooks were also consulted,such as Shao Shi Wen Jian Lu,Bi Yun Xia,Dong Zai Ji Shi and Hou Shan Tan Cong and something in poetry series.Secondly,as what Wang Dingbao said,he has inquired the older generations and friends,obviously,the sources of the historical materials of this book are extensive,and the historical materials are authentic and believable.So this book has higher value in historical materials.For many of the author's friends are officials,many anecdotes about it is available.In part three,the author mainly discusses the enriching and particularity of this book from historical point of view in comparison with other historical books.We can find some records about imperial examinations in National history that have signs of quoting Qing Bo Za Zhi,but more historical materials are inexistent in National history.Therefore,these historical materials can make National history more perfect;some of them can also correct the mistakes of National history.A lot of vivid historical materials about the imperial examination system of the Song Dynasty,especially some about the interesting news and anecdotes of the men of literature have very important value in studying literature and historiography at that time.A lot of historical works had quoted a large amount of historical materials of Qing Bo Za Zhi.Therefore,its historical materials value has already been very prominent.In part four,from the modern academic angle,some records of Qing Bo Za Zhi give modern researchers a new view and thinking mode in studying imperial examinations,society and literature of the Song Dynasty.Imperial examination system is an important political system of the Song Dynasty,Qing Bo Za Zhi records the situation about imperial examinations in a very detailed way.We can do more overall understanding to imperial examination system from the record about relation of scholar's destiny and imperial examinations of the Song Dynasty.This book has kept a large number of poetic prose works and writer's biography,historical materials, and has offered the space and historical materials to literature researchers.Certainly,this book is far from perfect.Because a lot of records of this book were heard from others by the author,it has errors unavoidably,and some repeating places in writing.But these flaws cannot conceal its achievement,nor can they influence its historical value.The author carries on research to this book historical materials value in a comprehensive way on the basis of the thing that forefathers study.In order to probe into the academic value of Qing Bo Za Zhi,the author has carried on a meaningful try through the author's efforts.
