Wu Zetian is the only one female emperor in China's history. She had an important impact on Tang Dynasty, mainly from Gaozong period to Xuanzong period. This paper is more systematic exposition of the impact of Wu Zetian in various aspects in these periods.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part is mainly on the situation of Wu Zetian previous studies, including the achievement and inadequacy in the present studies, then proposed the significance of this paper.The second part is mainly on the impact of Wu Zetian in Gaozong period to Ruizong period. First, the impact of Wu Zetian in Gaozong period is neither exaggerated nor denied. Second, Wu Zetian's impact on the political situation in Zhongzong period directly or indirectly affects Zhongzong's administerial ability and his character, and also stimulates the political enthusiasma of a few royal women in Zhongzong period. Finally, I briefly discuss that Wu Zetian's impact on the personal fate of Ruizong Li Dan directly or indirectly.The third part is on Wu Zetian's effection on women in early Tang Dynast. Firstly, Princess Taiping's intervention to the politics is inseparable from the impact of Wu Zetian. Secondly, I discuss that Wu Zetian proposes and adoptes some female policies, which are conducived to women's advancement in the Gaozong period and then causes controversy in Xuanzong period.The Fourth part, I discuss the major the difference and springhead on Wu Zetian in the description, evaluation and fomat difference in Xin Tang Shu and Jiu Tang Shu.
