Pinglu Fu Yue Worship Since The Qing Dynasty And The Rural Social Life

The folk belief has the glorious historical origin and the deep social foundations in our country. Investigation on folk belief is helpful for us to understand the society culture of grass root, the traditional society order and the local cultural tradition, in order to grasp the structure and the operation of the rural society. Folk belief in Shanxi area has glorious history and rich content, however the research on folk belief in Pinglu area is rare.In order to make up the weak link in regional research, the author will inspect the relationship between Fu Yue worship since the Qing Dynasty in Pinglu county and country life from the perspective of social history and the correlation theories of the anthropology, the ethnology and the religion. This will not only help us to enrich the understanding of the local rural community and deepen our cognition to Sage Fu's culture connotation, but also to research on Shanxi folk belief and rural society.Fu Yue worship occupies an important position among Pinglu folk belief systems, has close relations with Pinglu's economy, politics and the cultural life and has had the profound influence. This paper is divided into five parts:The first chapter explains the origin and the significance of this topic, and recounts the academic study and achievement to folk belief, then submits the fundamental question of this paper.The second chapter inspects the formation of Pinglu Fu Yue worship. From the biography of Fu Yue and the Fu Yue story spreading at Pinglu, inspecting Fu Yue how to become the Pinglu folk belief.Chapter three summarizes the general situation and characteristic through inspecting Fu Yue ancestral hall and temple fair which changing and extending at Pinglu rural society.The fourth chapter elaborates the relationship between Pinglu Fu Yue worship since the Qing Dynasty and the rural life. Mainly inspecting by Fu Yue worship and rural society's material life, the spiritual life and association life, the author explains that Fu Yue worship played an important role at rural society and significance to Pinglu society.The conclusion has summarized the relationship between Fu Yue worship at rural society and rural social life, and analyses emphatically the practical significance of Pinglu Fu Yue Worship.In the new era, how to show the positive connotation of Fu Yue worship is an important issue before Pinglu people. As one kind of social and cultural phenomenon, folk belief will exist for a long time. And when constructing the harmonious society, the folk belief can not be avoided.Under these circumstances, how to know relations between the folk belief and China traditional culture, how to understand the function of the folk belief in strengthening the region social identity and recognition society, how to inherit the past, create the future and make good use of advantageous factors of folk belief to promote the harmonious society's construction, the above problems are worthy for us to study and discuss.
