The Literature Discourse of Late Qing has attracted more and more attention from the overseas critics. This paper will discuss the contextual origin of the Late Qing Dynasty mostly in following aspects: the study of the Late Qing Dynasty novel, the review of the translation and introduction, and rebuilding the historical space. It plans to analyze their thoughts and contribution to Modern Chinese Literary Criticism, Through reviewing the consciousness of Late Qing in the literary criticism of overseas Chinese scholars such as David Wang, Liou Fan, Liu He, Meng Yue, Chen Jianhua, Tang Xiaobing, Zhang wrong and so on.The paper will achieve three inquiries: First, set the consciousness of Late Qing in the background of communication between home and abroad, analyze their viewpoints by comparing methods, trying to hackle the ecological connection of literature of the Late Qing by the overseas light, and to trace the source of modern Chinese literature. Second, try to examine the origin and influence of the oversea literature criticism of the Late Qing from an overall angle, and reveal its modernism and theoretical essence, in order to recognize the complexity of overseas Chinese scholars. Third, reflect on various reasons for the differences of criticism between home and abroad, including ideological standpoint, literary conception, academic atmosphere, cultural identity, theoretical horizons and so on, aiming to reveal theory space of the conflicts and conversation originating from those differences, and to seek the methods and ways of enriching Chinese literary criticism of the Twentieth Century. |
