The Rational Characteristic In Song Legend

Over the past 300 years, compared with the Tang Dynasty legend ,the Song Dynasty legend not only has regresses but also has the development , whose historical destiny is full of comedic and thespian. Therefore, it can't ignore the impact on novels afterwards. The legend in Song Dynasty is different from in Tang Dynasty, which has bright rational special characteristic. Consequently, the point of the article is the rational special characteristic of the legend in Song Dynasty. The manifestation of the rational special characteristic is that there is less meaningless fantasy and vanity, but more consideration of the behavior in the realistic. It is not only on the nature personality but also have a long insight with them who placed more social responsibilities and historical mission in the work. The purpose of this paper is to show the special characteristic of Song legend through the contrast and analysis between the same theme of novels, and then discusses the origin of the special characteristic.This paper is divided into four chapters .The first chapter, Exordium. It mainly elaborates the intention ,the situation of related research and the methods of the paper.The second chapter, the generalization of legends. It includes the limit on the legendary literary style, the survey on Tang and Song legend creations, as well as the summary on the Song legend creation characteristic.The third chapter, it is the key point of this paper, which discusses the specific manifestation about the rational special characteristic of the Song legend in details. The process of proof is completed mainly by the contrast and analysis between the same theme of novels in Tang legend. It is divided into four categories: Lai situation categories of works, whose rational peculiarity is the dispelling of reality against illusion. Knight categories of works, whose rational peculiarity is the restraint of calm to impulse. Release Road categories of works, which shows the replacement of consciousness to the rapt. Historical painting of works, which shows the introspection of the frosty totemperament.The fourth chapter, the analysis of reason about rational peculiarity in Song legend. The rebirth of Confucianism in Song, the inheritance and development for traditional Confucianism doom the return of rational . The rational return of the era and the change of the fundition in literature place the fertile soil for the peculiarity of the Song legend. The attached importance people think to the social function in Song and the rational spirit in the legend are the correction that Tang legend thinks highly of entertainment and enjoyment. The correction of Tang legend's article style regulated the main development direction of the Chinese novel in a certain extent. The Song legend has been buried under the Tang legend's glory.However when we scan it in a new point of view, we will find there is lots of rational wisdom and the glory which the Tang legend can't compare with.
