Wu Mian is a leader of farmer's revolution of Dong minority in the early years of Ming Dynasty, his heroic deeds have spread in Dong area in various literature form over several hundred years. WuMian's legend and narrating dongkuan have the most representative character, they together constitute the main speaking body of WuMian's events, and it forms a legend circle in WuMian's home town Liping of Guizhou province in the course of spreading.The article makes research on WuMian's legend and narrating DongKuan, using motif analysis and image study on themology and morphology of folktale, and analyses the cultural implication of WuMian's legend and narrating DongKuan from the noumenonn meaning.At first, the article analyses the forming process of WuMian's legend form record of national history and folk spreading. Secondly, it describes the reasons of WuMian's legend and its legend circle are relatively close natural geographical environment, strong sorcery cultural atmosphere and the cultural tradition of record event with the song. Thirdly, it induces three subject types are growth subject, resistance subject and Local scenery subject. At last, it discusses thoroughly the subject significance and national culture implication of WuMian's legend and narrating DongKuan are unyielding resistance spirit, strong sorcery faith in Chu and Yue region, spiritual characters that making a determined effort to express feelings and expressing grievance with buddhist doctrines.Although WuMian's legend and narrating DongKuan is not the epic poem work in the traditional significance, but its epic depiction and epic meaning characters are present relatively. This will become the new research task of WuMian's legend and narrating DongKuan.
