Tang Dynasty is the most brilliant and glamorous era in Chinese history. In this era, Beauty painting reached a unprecedented climax with the rigid background of unified politics and prosperous economy. The development can be divided into three phases: Early Tang, time span from Vigorous Tang to An Shi Rebellion, and Late Tang. In the nearly three-hundred-year, many Beauty painters and lots of masterpieces continuously emerged. These provide us valued artistic form and learning materials.Buddhism is one of the three major religions, which is a philosophy implying deep wisdom came into being in India during BC 6 to BC 5. It has profound original opinion on universe, life, analysis about concepts and reflection on national. Buddhism was introduced into China during Late Western Han Dynasty and Early Eastern Han Dynasty. When it came to Tang Dynasty, Buddhism had been interpenetrated with Taoism and Confucian thought after the pass from Han Dynasty, Wei, Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties, and Sui Dynasty. This gave birth to the Chinese and secular aesthetic taste with obvious Chinese Characters.Zhou Fang, a famous artist in late Tang Dynasty, is skilled at Nobles Portrait and Religious murals, and is especially good at Beauty Painting."Beauties Wearing Flowers"is one of his masterpieces. His style represented the aesthetic taste and philosophical thinking of that era. The image of"water moon Guanyin"created by Zhou Fang was deemed as the representation of secularized religious paintings of that era, which is called"Model of Zhou".Every painting, each artistic form, and the art of every nationality all imply the aesthetic taste belonging to the artist and the nation. This aesthetic taste exists through all the artistic activities and sustains with artistic creation. This thesis aims at exploring the effect of Buddhism aesthetic taste on Beauty Paintings of Tang, which bases on the analysis of painting .
