Research On The Theory Of Xunzi In Qian-Jia Period

Xunzi was a master of the Confucianists in latter stage of the Warring States in our country. He was the comprehensive expression of the academic thought of the pre-Qin period too. But the historical destiny of Xunzi's academy was so extraordinary frustration, rose and fell several times. Since Han Yu proposed the"confucian orthodoxy"in the middle period of the Tang Dynasty, the academic position of Xunzi begen to drop. Xunzi was sent to cold palace and was divided heterodoxy especially in Song and Ming Dynasty when Neo-Confucianism was in the Period of the prosperity. But Xunzi's academic status has been prominently improved in Qian-Jia period of Qing Dynasty. Many people begen to collate Xunzi , explain for it, and even praise he.The study on Xunzi's theory begen to get more achievements than the former People. Xunzi's academy welcame the rejuvenation era in Qian-Jia period. The rejuvenation of Xunzi' academy in Qian-Jia period was the result of transition of the academic prevailing custom.Also, the improvement of the position of Xunzi's academy has an influence to the academy in Qian-Jia period. So, strengthen the investigation of the academy in Qian-Jia period,it will facilitate us to understand the rule of Xunzi'academic developmentment and hold in an all-round way of the state of the academic development.This thesis will study from visual angle of academic history,and intellectual history, meanwhile, pay attention to the method of literature to study. It will summarize achievement which the scholar in Qian-Jia period collated and commented"Xunzi". Also,it will in-depth analysis the thinkings which hide in their academic thoughts.There are four parts except the introduction and the concluding speech:Part one mainly investigate the background of the rejuvenation of Xunzi'academy in Qian-Jia period. Besides discussing the reason why the changes of Qing'academic atmosphere in detail,it will brief introduct the improvement of Zhuzi'status and the sign of the rejuvenation of Xunzi'academy in initial stage of Qing. Part two mainly investigate the situation of the collation of Xunzi'academy in Qian-Jia period . Also,it will systematic sort out and summarize the achievements of the collation;Part three will explain the view in detail which the scholars in Qin-Jia understanded the Xunz'thought ,especially the dispution for the demoting of the former person.Also,it will point out the meaning and the limitation of the development of Xunzi'academy.Part four is a key problem which this thesis want to solve.It will clarify the Hiding Xunzi'academic thinking which the scholars in Qin-Jia have in it's own and detailed analysis the reasons of the happenning.The studying of Xunzi'academy in Qin-Jia fall to surmount the thoughtcast of respecting of classics and Mencius. So,it had limited the achievement that they clarified the different thinkings of the theory between Xunzi and Mencius. When they elucidated Xunzi'academy,they under banner of Mencius and haven't a clear understanding to the thinking of their mind. This contradiction is worth further study.
