Hua'er is a popular folk song with a long history in the Northwestern regions.Setting about cultural and ecological changes of Hua'er, this paper begins to explore in the vision of cultural communication process. In the communication perspective, the author has presented various factors, subjective and objective, favorable and unfavorable, as well as desirable and inadequate. This paper is divided into five parts. Part I makes a concise exposition of the study on the reason, purpose and meaning. Review of previous research results not only finds a logical starting point for this paper, but also stands out the innovation of this paper. Papers relate to many subjects, so it is necessary to define some of the concepts. Part II is mainly on the spread and function of Hua'er. In the third part, the author discusses the trouble of Hua'er in reality. And in the view of cultural communication, this part shows the decline of Hua'er in many aspects. Part IV is the focus of this paper. Under the background of the protection of intangible cultural heritage , the author studies the hua'er ceremony on Erlang Mountain as a case. And based on the information gathered from Field investigation, the author discusses the effects of several basic factors for participants of inheritance subjects during the communication process. After that, there are two ways, natural inheritance and school education, to develop the participation of inheritance subjects. Finally, if Hua'er and daily life blend into each other as well as inheritance subjects upgrade to the height of the cultural consciousness, Hua'er can be passed down from generation to generation. Part V is the summary of the paper. In the entire process of exposition, the author has always been people-oriented. Fundamentally speaking, people are both the disseminators of culture and the recipients of culture. From this sense, people are the most important medium. Hua'er can be spread and communicated by migration and mobility of people. This is also the reason that my research focuses on inheritance.
