The Autonomy Of The Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection, Authenticity, Integrity

This thesis is based on researches and literature analysis of Begging-for-Deftness Festival in Xihe County of Gansu Province, which is a type of Double-Seventh Day. Taking all advantages of folklore field work and under the guidance of folklore and sociology theory, it went deep into the whole process of the ceremony of Begging-for-Deftness Festival by participating in the cultural events and interviewing lots of local people. The thesis recorded the new way of inheritance of Begging-for-Deftness Festival in the process of declaration and protection, and discussed the problem that in the background of the focus on the protection of intangible cultural heritage while many intangible cultural heritages are dying out (especially most of the customs of Double-Seventh Day in China), what makes the ceremony so prosperous in Begging-for-Deftness Festival in Xihe County? It also gave opinions on spontaneity, authenticity and holistic principle of protection of intangible cultural heritage.This thesis is composed of three parts:The first part is introduction. The purpose and significance of the subject, the summary of existing studies on Begging-for-Deftness Festival in Xihe County, and the methodology employed in the researches was stated.The body contains three chapters. First, it described the cultural and geographical situations of Xihe County, recorded the whole process of preparation and celebration of ceremonies in Begging-for-Deftness Festival, and discussed the changes in the process. Then, it analyzed the reason of the successive prosperousness of Begging-for-Deftness Festival, and introduced the natural condition, economic development, local culture, the national government action, inheritor, expansion of inheritance basis and the functions of scholars and local government in this region. On the basis of the previous chapters and existing achievements of other people, it penetrated in the spontaneity, authenticity and holism of protection of intangible cultural heritage.According to the argumentations in the whole thesis, the last part concluded the significance of persistence on spontaneity, authenticity and holistic principle as well as the enhancement on self-realization and function transition of traditional folklore.
