As one of writer-Confucianists of the high Tang Dynasty, Sun Ti not only made individual contribution to the development of the Tang Dynasty literature by selecting a lot of men of letters as Li Hua, Xiao Yingshi, and Yan Zhenqing, who respected the Confucianism. But simultaneously, he joined in the poetic world at the final important stage of the transition of Tang Dynasty poetry from the early to the high, and became one of the pioneers and constructors of the high Tang Dynasty poetry. When he was young, Sun Ti served as a subordinate official away from home at Shan Yin, where he created a batch of scenery poetries. Though profiting from style of "WuYue", which highlighted the handsome and delicate sense, these poetries demonstrated intense emotion, performed the grand style, displayed the spirit of the new times, and achieved great achievement. However, along with the development of official career and the change of the circumstance, Sun Ti gradually transferred from a scenery poet to a typical capital poet. During the time of transition, the art of Sun Ti' poetry creation fluctuated between the technique of stylization and the free expression of the new age. At the same time, the idea of writer-Confucianism, which was intensified by degrees, permeated into Sun Ti's poetry, which paid close attention to the Confucian thoughts.Combining with the background of the transition of Tang Dynasty poetry from the early to the high, the life of Sun Ti, and the identity of writer-Confucianists, this paper takes Sun Ti's poetry text as object of study, researches the course of his poetry creation and the artistic characteristic of his poetry, reveals the transitional characteristic of performance technique, literature idea and style choice in Sun Ti's poetry, and discusses the distinguishing feature of Sun Ti's transition from a scenery poet to a capital poet. In brief, this paper endeavors to reappear a characteristic individuality as Sun Ti in the poetic world of the Tang Dynasty.
