Research On ShenZijin, Dramatist In Late Ming Dynasty

Shen Zijin,born in Shen family in Wujiang(a district in Suzhou now),was a nephew of famous dramatist Shen Jing in Ming dynasty.As an important dramatist of Wujing School,he broke the old composing patten of Wujiang school and extended the creative way,so he was considered as the last important dramatist of Wujiang School.Shen Zijin was a very productive dramatist.His works not only got involved in the Chinese legends but also in Sanqu( Non dramatic Songs) and poems as well.He also made special contribution to the history of drama theory. Combined with the previous research and through the study of his thought,his experience and his works, i try to introduce this famous dramatist completely.The first part of this thesis is to sort out the detailed chronicle of his life.I mainly embark on his story,companionship and his works,which will give a full picture of his life experience.Based on the chronicle of his life made by previous experts,I add his school records,the performance of his legends and his clansmen related to the checking and approving of ((Nan Ci Xin Pu)) (famous book written by Shen Zijin)in Shen family.The second part is to analyze his legends.No matter the loyalism,taoism or the fancy of upright officials and official honor which the existent works embody all celarly reflect his strong feudalism thought.At the same time,he has deep understanding of stage effect of dramas.By coordinating the catalogues of the dramas reasonably and making full use of the language,he successfully displays the peculiarity of his composition on the artisticale side.The third part is to introduce his famous book—((Nan Ci Xin Pu?. As the most important theoretical works of Shen Zijin,on the premise of looking on the new voice and gorgeous words objectively,he finds dialecticaly that operns can prepare laws and analyze doubts based on the ancient operns and operas can also spread tunes and expand education based on the mordern operns.The combination of them can strengthen the artistical vitality of operas.The numerous added songs on the basis of original songs become valuable research datas afterwards.Compared to other conexistant operns,it has some weakness,but it is still very important part of Sothem Opera.Though the above analysis of three parts and on the combination of Shen Zijin and Wujiang School,the conclusion is to summarize the position of Shen Zijin in the history of dramas and drama theory.
