In the middle of the Northern Song, the unprecedented prosperity of shichan attracted wide attention from poets. In the domain of poetry there sprang up lots of works portraying shichan . Aiming directly at this literature phenomenon, my treatise will examine the creation of poetry in the middle of the Northern Song from the view of shichan.The treatise mainly consists of three parts.Part 1 The flourish of shichan and the transformation of the mode of educated class. In the middle of the Northern Song, as the ruling class relaxing policies of shichan and enforcing steps of benefiting merchants, shichan developed well and vigorously. Shichan and the mainstay of it—merchants gradually attracted the concern from the educated class, meanwhile , aroused the argument between intellectuals and merchants . Under the social background of shichan'prosperity , the caprice of stressing commerce and respecting luxury became populous . At the same time , intellectuals'consciousness of consuming exquisite articles was also closely related with it .Part 2 Shichan in poetry . There will wholly check the poems and emphasize the"poems of advertisement"that created by shichan and poets ,so as to concretely depict the scent of shichan in poems ,and witness the close combination of shichan and poems.Part 3 The development of shichan and art of poetry . In these poems of shichan the aesthetic view point changed from expressing subject feelings to details of daily life, and this phenomenon was depicted more intensively and sufficiently.
