Research On The Dongjing Poetry In Northern Song Dynasty From The Perspective Of Sociology

This paper studies on the Dingjing poetry in Northern Song Dynasty which reflects the Kaifeng social life from the perspective of sociology. With Dingjing poetry as entry point and combined with the social background, this paper pictures the whole life of Kaifeng in Northern Song Dynasty.From Dingjing poetry in Northern Song Dynasty, we know Kaifeng once developed in high speed and has distinguished time feature. The buildings in Kaifeng were exquisite in shape, strong in structure and consummate in construction; the virescence was varied and rich, economical and practical, realizing a perfect fusion between its grand architecture and green environment, reaching harmony and unity in artificial and natural beauty.Kaifeng was historically prosperous and offered various delicious foods, from soup to nuts. Boites and restaurants stand side by side, including the grant hotel, greasy spoon and street vendor. Tea was also popular with all people, from the emperor to civilian, who treated drinking tea as pleasure. As to business, the social status of the businessmen in Kaifeng has greatly risen, which provides human resource for Kaifeng’s social and economic development. With Xiangguo Temple as a typical one, the temple fair has shaped scale to meet the citizen’s increasing purchasing demands. Different shops and stores provide various goods. In addition, owe to fact that the Bianhe River, Huihe River, Guangji River and Jinshui River flowing through the city, Kaigeng boasts strong canal system which guarantees the prosperity of Kaifeng economy.The political stability, the prosperous economy and the hunting for life pleasure advocated by the government lifted up a blast of entertainment wave at that time. There were fantastic elemental arts and acrobatics performance from Wazigoulan and brilliant songs and dances from public houses of joy. Besides, a variety of folk-custom festival activities would be performed in Qingming Festival, the Lantern Festival, Mid-autumn Festival and the New Year. The gardens, with Jinming Pool as their representative, took on unprecedented grand occasion to meet the entertainment demands of the citizen.Those poetries on Kaifeng written in Northern Song Dynasty reflect its social life and living condition at that time, and clearly demonstrate the advanced, typical and featured capital appearance.
