The Meaning Category Study On The Phonetic Loan Characters In The Oracle Inscriptions

Past researches made by predecessors on phonetic loan characters in Oracle Inscreptions focused on complete picture statistics of character number and frequency, just sought the surface situation of character-choosing. The proportion of phonetic loan characters in Oracle Inscreptions is very high, which has become a consensus of scholars, their conclusions are mostly inclined to. Based on the research made, this paper furtherly sorts out the phenomenen of phonetic loan in Oracle Inscreptions .The job has done includes two aspects mainly: first, examed word for word, found out what phonetic loan characters to be, what kind of them; the other aspect which was from the point of view of the basic vocabulary was to classify the root characters, thus to find out the phonetic loan character numbers in each catergory and what regularity existed. By means of comprehensive study, our conclusion is: from the point of view of character frequency, the proportion of phonetic loan characters in bone times is do high, but, from the point of view of the core vocabulary of a language, its proportion is low, the pictographic character and the understanding character still are the main current in Oracle Inscreptions. Therefore, The Oracle Inscreptions is one kind of ideographic system characters.
