Tang dynasty is the most thriving period of culture communication between Sino-foreign. She accepts the culture from all over the world and the utensils of the cultures. In many utensils of Tang dynasty, Hu-ewer is not the most one in quantity but it is imitated extensively. Hu-ewer is the representative utensil comes from abroad. It is very important in the reahn of the study of commumcation between Sino-foreign. This thesis tries to use the archaeological finds and researches in these years, doing further research about Hu-ewer.This thesis bases on figures of Hu-ewer that appeared on tomb frescos of Tang dynasty, pottery figurine, figurine of camel and Hu-ewer utensils mode of gold and silver, ceramic, and tricolors found in China. Depending on the differences of rim, neck, handle and belly part, Hu-ewer can be classified into five periods, two schools and seven tapes. At the basis of typology analysis of Hu-ewer we can find out the foreign culture elements contained in it. Then compared it with the same tape artifacts that from central and west Asia and even Europe, finding the sources of the elements of foreign cultures. After the study and analysis, we can come to the conclusion that Hu-ewer is the ewer for wine and be brought into China mainly through "Silk Road", experiences the progress of import→copy→creation. Judging the most important elements of foreign cultures that influence Hu-ewer are from Sasanian Persia and Sogdian.
