This topic belongs to the category of society economic history. This paper applied the methods of combining the data from field investigation with historical literature, and took the engraving print in Jinxi county Jiangxi province as the case study to discuss the network relationships between the relative and region of engraving print and the imitation of vocation development from the local culture and environment through the analysis of the origin of the engraving print in Jinxi county and the development situation of Xuwan town as the control of the engraving pint in the south Yangtze Rive in Ming and Qing dynasties. The rise of engraving print in Xuwan town JinXi county in Qing dynasty based on the culture environment in the hometown of the elite, the convenient traffic and the advantaged position. So it could be help with the brand of Linchuan elite to sell all over the county. In fact, there were the consanguineous relation between the vocation and clan in traditional society. On the case study of Dawentang in Yu family in Zhuqiao village we could find that each workshop host of engraving pint in Jinxi County got the support from their clan. It was the support of the development of traditional traders that fusing funds, manpower and other resources through family forces to combine the strength of the group, and taking the family as the core; the position as the radiation. They could not have this society net, and had to rely on these forces to obtain their goals. On the other hand, these hosts, who had become the rich men by trading, took part in the management of local affairs; in the same time they promoted their own prestige and status in locality through building the clan temple, compiling the spectrum, and using patriarchal ethical concepts to educate their clansman and snatched the speaking right of local authority and resource by disaster relief when they returned hometown. These booksellers and rich business men took helping their relatives and friends as their responsibilities because they could not have the supports and sacrifice of family members in the process of entrepreneurship. All these factors made book dealers also could not get away from patriarchal ethical constraints, and had to put the great majority of the profits into the society and life spending to transfer consumer funds, and not to expand production and technology, and other aspects of innovation. So in the face of external risks, such as the declining of Imperial examinations, mutiny and the advanced production technology from the west and so on, because of the shackles of the old concepts, making them in the new situation due to the lack of response capabilities, it came into the inevitable decline. This one yuan structure of the economic base became our country's traditional industries vicious circle, which could not get out of. |
